Hotel Room Hacks

I am constantly asked which products I use. As I methodically laid out my travel hair products, cosmetics, vitamins, etc. where I could see all of them in Orlando (something I love to do when I have time), it dawned on me that this was the snapshot that people were looking for. Not exactly a sleek composition or a pretty picture, and pieces are so worn that the labels are missing, but you get the drift.

I spread it all out, because if I cannot see it, then it does not exist. Organizing it by category helps me to easily see my options and make appropriate choices for the day. The whole process allows me to dump out my bag, thus cleaning it all out in the process. I am ashamed to say that I also enjoy doing it in hotel rooms on their washcloths, because I am not the one cleaning the linens. No one wants to polish waxy eyeliner sharpeners in their own home. Ghastly, but true.

If I had to sum up the lot, it is a bunch of sunscreens, topical vitamins, ingestible vitamins, black mascaras, matte lipsticks and sparkly eyeliner. Specifically, the vendors are SkinCeuticals, Oribe, Xtremelashes, MAC, Kat Von D, Kevyn Aucoin, Hourglass, Sephora, Cherry Blossoms, Davines, Dior, Elemis and the colorful, tasseled Papaya bag that miraculously holds most of it.

If I had to pick my faves that I cannot leave home without, then they would be the Sephora black mascara (which order from Amazon), Hourglass primer, the Elemis cleanser balm, any cheap liquid eyeliner, Kevyn Aucoin, SkinCeuticals tinted moisturizer, MAC Studio Fix, concealer, Becca bronzer and the Oribe blow-out cream.

My one must is any thick, black mascara. It is feminine, glamorous, and only needs to be applied once a day.  There is simply no glamour without it. Now please excuse me, because I have a lunch date with Minnie Mouse, also a lash advocate.

How to organize chaos.
